gosh, what a beautiful family with gorgeous kiddos. we even got levi to smile for a couple--something we couldn't do at his six month session!
this is a fun, fun family. they like to laugh. and they really like tacos. or at least they really wanted tacos when we were taking these.....and i heard that after our session they finally got their tacos!
i'm so glad that i know these wonderful people!
it might have been a little on the chilly side, but that didn't stop us from playing outside! grandma and grandpa came down to haul the tractor back up to michigan with them. so we got to play with tools and on the trailer, old cardboard on the hill and watch daddy and grandpa jim load up the tractor.
and i couldn't resist testing out the awesome old school desk that my brother-in-law sent my way (didn't even bother taking the sticker off of it)! the lighting was perfect. i didn't worry about their hair being 'just right' or their faces being clean.
and i just did what i love doing!
just a glimpse of part of our day......
oh miss evelyn! how much you have grown in a year...... and so, so serious! no matter what we did, we just couldn't seem to get a big grin. by the looks that she gave me i am sure she thought i was a big goofball. you have to admit, though, that her serious face is way, way cute!
i love this family! i have known aimee for quite a while now. she is one of the only people i trust with my hair! (i highly recommend her!) my kids love for her to cut their hair, too. and jaxson--what a great little guy! he has been through a lot, but still smiling!
this session took what seemed like forever to happen--had to reschedule several times due to nasty cold weather. i am so glad we waited it out, though, because it was perfect when we were finally able to get together. we did have a small battle with some mosquitoes, but it was a small price to pay. i got so many great images of these guys that this blog post is only a fraction of them!
what can i say about my friend jennifer, except: man, we've been friends for a long, long time! we go way back...back to high school, which was a lifetime ago. am i right? before adulthood, before husbands, before kids. i don't think there is anyone besides family that i have known and actually managed to stay in close contact with as long. she was in my wedding. i was in hers. she has been there for the arrival of all my children and i babysat both of hers until the oldest went off to kindergarten. our families even lived together for a couple months while their new home was being built...and we didn't kill each other!
this family. this one right here.....
this family is special to me.
back in june i did a 500 fan giveaway--as a way to say thank you to all of my supporters for helping me get to 500 'fans' on facebook. everyone who liked my status, shared it, and then commented on my blog post got entered into a drawing for a free session.
congrats to the balbaugh family who won that drawing! but....we had actually done a family session together not long before. we decided maybe we would wait until fall to get together. as fall got closer, i suggested maybe we do more of a lifestyle type session at pumpkin fantasy land at fashion farm in ligonier, IN. i'm so glad that we did! i had a blast following miss ali, her mom and dad, and her grandparents around. hay mazes, corn mazes, pumpkins, and a horse drawn hay ride....fun stuff with a fun and beautiful family! these are only some of the day's images!!
wife, mommy, photographer.....
